Guests converged from all over the UK on 8 Northumberland Avenue in London, to celebrate the 24th Annual Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards. Hosted by Specsavers Co-Founder Dame Mary Perkins and Rylan Clark-Neal, the various category finalists competed for the overall prize.
The Judges facing the difficult decision of selecting the winner from the high-quality contestants were Louis Walsh, Tulisa, Annabel Zammit, Max Rogers, and Marco Bezerr, and after much deliberation, the celebrated Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award was presented to Kasia Ring, a prize of £10,000 together with a wardrobe of specs to the value of £1,000.
Specsavers not only undertake eye-tests and sell spectacles, but also promote eye health. Many customers have benefitted from an early diagnosis of conditions, leading to their treatment.
Guests supported the raffle with prizes including a Gin tasting experience at The View, The Shard, and 5* Hotel stays, and £100,00o0 was raised for Specsavers' adopted charity Kidscape, the first national charity dedicated to preventing bullying and child abuse.
Guests enjoyed Champagne and wines, and a dinner comprising Slow cooked beef fillet, beef ravioli, creamed spinach, wild mushroom butter, mushroom fricassee and mountain herb jus, followed by Liquid nitrogen ice cream and dragon’s breath chocolate fountain and cocktail smoothies.
