Care After Combat Inaugural Ball

Jim Davidson and his wife Michelle hosted the first fundraising ball of Care After Combat, the charity he has formed with Derek 'Smokey' Cole, Simon Weston and Gary 'Goose' Cryer.

London's Dorchester was the venue for the glittering evening, which saw the previous Defence Chief rubbing shoulders with Nigel Farage, and members of the armed forces.
Jim Davidson's interest in the armed servicemen and women, who keep us safe, prompted him to found the British Forces Foundation, and brought him together with former prime minister Lady Thatcher, who shared his concerns.

The Charity looks after veterans of the armed forces, who get into trouble, go to prison, and then come out with no support. On release from prison, the Charity seeks to intervene, by providing a helping hand against misuse of drink and drugs, and preventing repeat offending.

Supporters dined on glazed tilapia, crunchy papaya salad with wasabi dressing. Followed by shoulder of lamb, black olive jus and potato dauphinoise. Dessert was pistachio creme brûlée with cherry sorbet.
The entertainment was headlined by the Military Wives Choir, who received a standing ovation.

Among the guests attending were Jim Davidson's family, General Lord David Richards with Lady Caroline, Edward and Christina Asprey, Luisa Zissman, Casey Batchelor, Barbara Windsor with Scott Mitchell, Laurence and Jackie Llewelyn Bowen and Gillian Taylforth.
