The Castle of Mey Party was attended by Her Majesty The Queen, having earlier opened Parliament. Her Majesty joined Patrons of the Castle of Mey Trust, in the garden of the five star Goring Hotel in Belgravia. Gourmet canapés accompanied the Champagne, while guests perused the Mey produce.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show cut its usual impossible splendour, in the grounds of Royal Hospital. The Laurent Perrier Garden, designed by Tom Stuart Smith, was among exceptional garden designs winning a Gold Medal.
